Proclamation: June 2022 is "Pride in the Iranian Diaspora Month"

To honor Pride Month and to celebrate and recognize LGBTQIA+ Iranians, the Center for Iranian Diaspora Studies is pleased to share that the City and County of San Francisco, with the support of Supervisor Ahsha Safai's (District 11) office, declares June 2022, "Pride in the Iranian Diaspora Month!”

With this proclamation, we celebrate and acknowledge LGBTQIA+ individuals in our community and around the world, and the many who came before and risked their lives to be free and out so that subsequent generations can live without fear of violence, state repression, or gender and sexual discrimination. LGBTQIA+ Iranians are a part of the fabric of our community. We love and honor you, not only over these 30 days, but each and every day—past, present, and future.
