“Once at Present” Catalogue and Video-Screening Celebration
Join Us for Iranian Diaspora Arts: “Once at Present” Catalogue and Video-Screening Celebration with Iranian Diaspora Artists, October 8, 3 PM--Berkeley
After many delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are proud to announce the publication of the Center's catalogue of the two exhibitions of Iranian diaspora art that the Center sponsored/co-sponsored as part of our March 2019 conference "Forty Years & More: International Conference of Iranian Diaspora Studies."
On October 8th at 3PM, at the East Bay Media Center (1939 Addison Street, Berkeley, CA), we will be hosting an in-person reunion of some of the more than thirty Iranian diaspora artists whose work was seen in these two San Francisco-based exhibitions, during our 2019 conference. This beautiful catalogue, designed by Bay Area artist and designer Navid Maghami, features works from the two group shows: "Once at Present" curated by Taraneh Hemami and Kevin Chen at the Minnesota Street Project gallery March 28-April 30, and "Part and Parcel," curated by Taraneh Hemami at the San Francisco Art Commission Gallery, January-March 2019.
The informal in-person gathering will feature a video presentation by artist Azin Seraj, which was commissioned by the Center to document the shows. This event is free and open to the public and we will have catalogues for purchase for $30 at the event; or you can email us email@example.com for more information about purchasing/mailing.
Co-sponsored by Diaspora Arts Connection.
