This pilot archive collection, housed on the San Francisco State University DIVA platform, features photos, documents, and newspaper and magazine collections from Bay Area individuals and organizations of the Iranian diaspora. The collection offers a small glimpse into the history of Bay Area Iranian Americans, as well as the ways that they have shaped and been shaped by this region.
To date, the Center has complied and scanned 500+ photos and documents. The SF State Iranian-American Digital Archive project was initiated in 2019 with the support of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) "Community Stories" grant. The Center is looking to expand this collection and work collaboratively to build a national network of digital archival resources with other institutions and organizations.
